If you already own a driving license and want to take your career to the next level, then you’ve come to the right place, as the 247 Topographical Skills Training will help you become a fully licensed private hire driver.
This might sound like a very complicated process, but in reality it’s quite simple. In fact, in order to activate as a minicab driver in London, the only test you will have to pass is the Topographical Skills Assessment.
This will help you have full knowledge of the motorway network and the compass points and will also help you understand how to properly use a road atlas and a map.

Module I
Index based questions
This section will assess the ability to use different indexes within an atlas.Example Question:
Identify the grid reference and page number of Parliament Street, London.Module II
General Topography
This section will assess the ability to use different maps within an atlas.Example Question:
What direction is Stansted Airport from Central London?Module III
Planning a route
This section will assess the ability to plan/identify a route between two locations.Example Question:
What is the most direct route from London Zoo to Piccadilly Circus. Please include all road names and directions you take.Module IV
Compass point questions
In this section you need to demonstrate knowledge of compass points within directional based questions.Example Question:
You start at junction 1 and travel 2 streets east. Then you travel 1 street south. What junction number are you at now?
Using indexes to identify locations and points;
Identify directions and locations using a map;
Planning a route between two location;
Demonstrate knowledge of compass points within directional based questions;
